Umbran Lovers: FOURTH SCENE

---Scene Start---

----Near a Ruby Tuesday’s in downtown Buffalo----

(Shadow teleports near the entrance to a Ruby Tuesday’s near downtown Buffalo. Shadow was dressed in a tuxedo, as he wanted to look proper for the occasion. He enters the restaurant, ready to take up his reservations, when he sees a familiar face as the host.)

Shadow: Hello.

(The host looks at him with a surprised face, but realizes who he is. The host was Falco Lombardi, ace pilot of the Star Fox team.)

Falco: Well, well, well. Shadow the Hedgehog! I haven’t seen you since the Brawl Days, my friend!

Shadow: It has been a while, Falco. *sudden realization* Wait…I’m also in Smash 4, remember?

Falco: Oh, right---sorry man. Kinda forgot haha!

Shadow:*annoyed* Of course you did…everybody does!

Falco: Anyway…here for your date with Madame Mayor I see?

Shadow: I’m not proud of it. And it’s not a date.

Falco: I know. I’m just joshing with you. It would kill ya to smile every once in a while.

(Shadow is silent)

Falco: But anyway, Mayor Joy should be here in about 10 minutes. I would offer you to take your seat early, but Joy asked if you can wait for her until she comes.

Shadow: Why?!

Falco: Couldn’t tell ya. She didn’t say.

Shadow: Right. Fine, I’ll wait.

Falco: Much obliged!

(As Shadow turns and walks to a nearby seat near the lounge area, a slender figure stands in his way.)

Shadow: Miss, you’re in my way *sudden realization*

(It was Mandy from the Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy, now 26 years old and is the Mayor of New York City. )

Mandy: I know I am, Shadow.  

Shadow:…Mandy?!

Mandy: In the living flesh.

Shadow:  What in the blue hell, are you doing here, of all places?!

Mandy: Now, is that any way to greet an old friend?

Shadow: No, just you.

(Mandy remains with a serious look)

Mandy: Such disrespect….i thought what we had was special.

Shadow: Cut the sarcasm…What do you want?

Mandy: Simple. You’re meeting with Joy in the next 8 minutes, correct?

Shadow: And why would you even remotely care?

Mandy: Because, I have a proposition for you that you may be interested in.

Shadow: And why should I even remotely care?

Mandy: Because, I know you dislike Joy as much as I do.

Shadow: How surprising.

Mandy: And I’m currently devising a plan to politically ruin her. Being as you two almost killed each other yesterday, while leveling the city in the process, I was wondering….

Shadow: *holding his hand up to halt her speaking* I’m just going to stop you right there...

Mandy: Hmm?

Shadow: Yes, I dislike Joy with a passion. But, I’m in no means looking to make things worse than it already is. So, forget it!

Mandy: I see…well, that’s too bad.

Shadow: Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have a date with Christ herself.

(Mandy makes no emotion and begins to exit the restaurant. She stops as the door is half open to say one last thing to Shadow)

Mandy: I’ll convince you to join me, Shadow. And I think, it’ll happen sooner than you think.

Shadow: I doubt it!

Mandy: I digress. I’ll see you soon, Shadow.

(Mandy exits. 10 seconds later, Joy arrives in a nice yellow floral dress shirt, with a vibrant blue flannel around her. She also is wearing black work slacks and slilver-floral open toed heels. Looking very beautiful and vibrant, she sees Shadow with a lighted face and she smiles and says Hi.)

Joy: Shadow! You came! I’m so happy that you’re here. We’re going to have such a nice time!

Shadow: You are way too excited for this…

Joy: Oh cheer up! This will be lovely, I promise! *gives a warm smile*

Shadow: Let’s just get this over with it.

(Joy and Shadow walk to their tables.)

Joy: And may I say, you look ravishing in that tuxedo of yours, haha! *winks at Shadow*

Shadow:..never do that again…
